Prof. Dr. Naciye Kunt is a Professor in the Department of Foreign Language Education at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Education. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Texas, an MA in Foreign Languages (University of Texas), and a BA in English Teaching from Marmara University. Her research focuses on second language acquisition, foreign language anxiety, EFL teaching methodologies, multicultural education, and the integration of technology in language learning environments. Her academic contributions include supervising over 40 PhD and Master’s theses since 2002, addressing topics such as refugee education, non-native speaker teacher identity, AI-assisted language activism, and translanguaging in multilingual classrooms. She emphasizes inclusive pedagogies, linguistic diversity, and the impact of cultural competency in EFL contexts. Prof. Kunt’s work extends to exploring hybrid and game-based learning approaches, the role of storybooks in early language education, and the effects of Montessori methods on students with autism. Her ongoing research includes studies on linguistic diversity challenges, sustainable development through language education, and teacher preparedness in multicultural settings. Notably, her advising spans multiple countries, including Turkey, Nigeria, Iran, Iraq, and Kazakhstan, reflecting her global perspective on language education challenges. She is affiliated with EMU’s Department of Foreign Language Education, Office EF 305, and contributes to academic initiatives promoting equitable and innovative language teaching practices.
