Tarik Abou-Chadi is a Professor in European Union and Comparative European Politics at the University of Oxford’s Department of Politics and International Relations and a Professorial Fellow at Nuffield College. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Humboldt University Berlin (2015). His research focuses on electoral behavior, political parties, and democratic representation in post-industrial societies, with emphasis on the transformation of social democracy, radical right rise, and Green politics. He leads the Swiss National Science Foundation-funded project on 'Social Status and the Transformation of Electoral Behavior in Western Europe' and is an Einstein BUA/Oxford Visiting Fellow (2023–2026), studying electoral trade-offs in post-industrial democracies.
