Dr. Kit Double is a Senior Lecturer and Australian Research Council DECRA Fellow in the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney. He completed his PhD in Psychology at the University of Sydney (2018) and served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Oxford University (2018–2021). Recognized as Australia’s top psychology researcher in 2025 by The Australian , his work focuses on metacognition, emotion regulation, and statistical modeling in educational and cognitive contexts. He directs the USYD Meta Lab, exploring how individuals monitor and adapt their thoughts and emotions to optimize learning and decision-making. His research bridges cognitive, educational, and affective psychology, emphasizing practical applications in education and mental health. Dr. Double’s research interests include metacognitive reactivity, emotional intelligence, and efficacy beliefs. He has secured grants such as the ARC DECRA Award and start-up funds from the School of Psychology. His lab collaborates internationally and focuses on interventions to improve metacognitive and emotional outcomes. Key areas of study include the impact of dietary habits on spatial navigation and the role of partner emotional intelligence in subjective well-being.
