Rebeca Miyar is a Doctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials (MPI SusMat) in Düsseldorf, Germany, affiliated with the Hydrogen Mechanics and Interface Chemistry group within the Department of Structure and Nano-/Micromechanics of Materials. Her educational background includes: PhD Candidate in Materials Science and Engineering at MPI SusMat (2024–present) M.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering from Tel-Aviv University (2021–2023) B.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering from Tel-Aviv University (2016–2020) Her research focuses on hydrogen behavior characterization at interfaces , novel experimental methods for in-situ hydrogen studies , and micromechanical investigations . She develops advanced techniques to observe real-time hydrogen interactions at microstructural levels, addressing critical challenges in hydrogen embrittlement for sustainable energy systems like storage and transportation infrastructure. This work bridges materials science with sustainable engineering applications. Miyar actively contributes to the Hydrogen Mechanics and Interface Chemistry group’s mission, utilizing specialized equipment for micromechanical testing and in-situ hydrogen analysis within MPI SusMat’s facilities.
