Begoña Gonzalez Otero is an Affiliated Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition , focusing on Intellectual Property Law with a specialization in European Patent Law , Copyright Law , and Interoperability . She holds a Doctorate in Law (2014, Santiago de Compostela) and Master’s degrees in Private Law and Intellectual Property and Competition Law . Roles : Senior Research Fellow (2019–), Visiting Researcher (University of Amsterdam, 2018), Academic Dean (EU Business School, 2015–2018). Research Interests : Intersection of IP and Competition Law, AI and IoT legal frameworks, data governance, software interoperability, sustainable innovation policies, and digital market regulations. Awards : Extraordinary Doctorate Award (2016), ATRIP Essay Competition Winner (2012), Clarke, Modet & Co. Best Master’s Thesis Prize (2008). Publications : Over 15 articles and monographs, including analyses of Machine Learning and Copyright , Transition to E-mobility , Digital Markets Act , and Data Governance in Emerging Economies . Teaching & Leadership : Designed academic programs at EU Business School, accredited lecturer (University of Derby), and led workshops on AI, IoT, and IP law in Europe and Latin America.
