Dr. Ellen Luckins is a Warwick Zeeman Lecturer and Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of Warwick's Mathematics Institute. Her research focuses on fluid and continuum mechanics, particularly in industrial and environmental applications involving porous media, phase changes, and free-boundary problems. She employs homogenization techniques, asymptotic analysis, and multi-scale modeling to study evaporation, decontamination processes, and material science challenges. Recent work includes modeling impurity deposition during evaporation in porous materials and the dynamics of mushy zones in binary alloys. Education includes a DPhil (PhD) from the University of Oxford's InFoMM CDT, with a thesis on silicon production processes in submerged arc furnaces.
