Natalia Lewandowska is an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at SUNY Oswego, serving as Director of the Planetarium and advisor to Astronomy minors. Her research focuses on pulsars—highly magnetized, rapidly rotating neutron stars—studied across electromagnetic spectra from radio to gamma-rays. She is a core member of the NANOGrav and NICER collaborations, analyzing pulsar data for gravitational wave research and X-ray timing studies. Her work bridges observational astronomy with astrophysical theory, emphasizing multi-wavelength analysis. Education includes a PhD in Physics (2015, University of Würzburg, Germany) and a Diplom in Physics (2010, University of Hamburg, Germany). Postdoctoral training included roles at West Virginia University (2018–2020) and the Green Bank Observatory (2016–2018), followed by visiting positions at Swarthmore College (2021–2022) and Haverford College (2020–2021). She leads the Pulsar Science Collaboratory, an outreach program enabling K-12 students to search for pulsars using Green Bank Telescope data. Her publications span pulsar timing techniques, X-ray/gamma-ray emission mechanisms, and multi-messenger astrophysics. Key contributions include discoveries linking X-ray enhancements to Crab pulsar giant radio pulses and advancing NICER's role in high-precision pulsar timing. Collaborations with the MAGIC telescope consortium have expanded understanding of TeV pulsar emission.
