Paul Williamson is a Senior Lecturer in Performance (Jazz & Improvisation) at the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music, Monash University. His academic and artistic work bridges jazz studies, contemporary music pedagogy, and collaborative composition. Research Interests: Jazz studies, ensemble interaction, collaborative composition, musical idiolect, and innovative teaching strategies. Key Projects: Monash Art Ensemble initiatives, HERE NOW HEAR recordings, and cross-genre composition studies. Williamson's publications focus on collaborative composition, virtual ensemble pedagogy, and technical-improvisational integration. His work often explores the intersection of creativity and educational frameworks. Scientific Awards: Multiple Bell Awards for avant-garde jazz records and produced albums (2014–2019). Recognition for contributions to the Monash Art Ensemble's recordings and performances.
