Dr TAN Seow Yen is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, a Clinical Faculty Member at Duke-NUS Medical School and NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and an Infectious Diseases Consultant and Head of the Department of Infection Prevention & Control at Changi General Hospital. She also leads Training & Education at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases. She is especially passionate about translating field epidemiology findings into practical bedside protocols and educational curricula for healthcare professionals and students. Dr Tan’s recent publications reflect an intense focus on the COVID-19 pandemic, spanning diagnostic accuracy of self- versus health-worker-collected swabs, clinical management of cohort wards, policy evaluation of routine screening, therapeutic trials of baricitinib plus remdesivir, and comprehensive epidemiologic profiling of Singapore’s first-wave cohort. Laboratory & Team Affiliations Dr Tan’s activities are embedded within the Infectious Disease Research and Training Office of the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, enabling close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in microbiology, epidemiology and health-services research across SingHealth and NUS.
