Jessica Friedrichs, MSW, MPA, is an Assistant Professor and Director of BSW Field Education at Carlow University's College of Arts & Sciences, Department of Social Work. She previously served as Director of the Service-Learning & Outreach Center and contributed to the Just and Merciful Curriculum and Honors Program.
- Education: MSW (Community Organizing and Social Administration, 2007), MPA (Public and Non-Profit Management, 2007) from University of Pittsburgh; BA in Sociology (Pennsylvania State University)
Her research focuses on cultural humility, diversity and equity, first-generation college students, and community-based global learning. She co-authored works on ethical engagement in global education and analyzed disparities in service-learning pedagogy.
She has received the Max and Esther Sestili Award for Excellence in Teaching (2018), Amizade Hall of Fame Award (2024), and was nominated for the Online Teaching Innovation Award (2018). She served as a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Digital Learning and Innovation (2017).
