Declan French is a Professor of Finance at Queen's Business School, Queen's University Belfast. His academic roles include Associate Editor at the International Review of Financial Analysis and Senior Fellow at Rennes School of Business (2022-2025). He holds a PhD in Economics, MSc in Mathematics, and Bachelor of Engineering. Research Interests: Health Economics, Household Finance, Financial Mathematics Key Projects: KTP collaborations with Spence & Partners and Diaceutics Limited; ESRC-funded studies on disability reporting and child trauma screening Research focuses on financial stress and health linkages, disability rates in Northern Ireland, and cost-effectiveness of precision medicine. He has secured £3.7M in grants and published over 40 peer-reviewed articles. Awards include the 2022 Impact of the Year Prize for contributions to healthcare policy. Teaching includes Finance, Stochastic Processes, and Research Methods at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Active in policy advisory roles, including the Money and Pensions Service and Northern Ireland credit unions. Professional Activities: Over 50 invited talks and conferences, including at Harvard University and Central Bank of Ireland. Supervised multiple PhD students in health economics and household finance.
