Marie Møller Jensen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Culture and Learning at Aalborg University. She holds a PhD and specializes in sociolinguistics, intercultural communication, and educational methodology. Her research focuses on the intersection of language, humor, and dialect studies, particularly exploring how humor functions in intercultural workplaces and the representation of regional dialects in literature. She is actively involved in educational projects addressing challenges in language transition between secondary and higher education. Her current research projects include: Brug af kunstig intelligens i engelskundervisningen : Investigating AI applications in teaching English at Danish high schools. Mundtlighed i engelskundervisningen : Enhancing spoken language skills in English education. Udvikling af kommunikative kompetencer gennem frivilligt brobygningsarbejde : Developing communication skills through community service. Key research interests include cognitive salience, localness perception, and the role of humor in language learning. She has published extensively on topics such as Tyneside dialect literature, socio-cognitive factors in language awareness, and gastrointestinal health studies linked to lifestyle interventions. Jensen is a peer reviewer for journals like International Congress of Phonetic Sciences and editor of Globe: A Journal of Language, Culture and Communication . Her work bridges empirical linguistics with practical educational initiatives, contributing to both theoretical frameworks and pedagogical innovations.
