Robert Alan Kloner, MD, PhD is a Professor of Medicine (Clinical Scholar) at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. His extensive research focuses on cardiovascular disease, particularly myocardial infarction, cardioprotection, and the relationship between erectile dysfunction and cardiovascular risk. Dr. Kloner has made significant contributions to understanding the no-reflow phenomenon, ischemia/reperfusion injury, and the cardiovascular effects of various substances. His research interests span several critical areas in cardiology including mechanisms of myocardial infarction, cardioprotective strategies during reperfusion, the no-reflow phenomenon, and the cardiovascular implications of erectile dysfunction. Dr. Kloner has extensively studied the effects of substances including marijuana, cocaine, and electronic cigarettes on cardiovascular function. He has been instrumental in developing consensus guidelines for the management of erectile dysfunction in patients with cardiovascular disease through the Princeton Consensus Conferences.
