Arto O. Salonen is a Professor of Social Pedagogy with a focus on sustainable well-being at the University of Eastern Finland. He leads the SISU consortium and the Sustainability Transformations Doctoral Education Pilot , while also serving as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Helsinki, Finnish National Defence University, and the University of Eastern Finland. His work bridges social pedagogy, sustainability science, and societal transformation, particularly through the lenses of consumerism, digitalization, and planetary citizenship. Research Focus: Social change, sustainability transformations, climate crisis education, and the cultural dynamics of consumerism.
