Aurelie Le Normand is a Lecturer in Fashion CAD at the School of Materials, University of Manchester. She teaches courses on fashion buying, merchandising, CAD, and communication within the BSc Fashion Business program. With industry experience as a designer, her work challenges conventional fashion design paradigms. Education: Master of Arts in Fashion Innovation and Entrepreneurship (University of Salford, 2016) PGCE in Applied Art and Design (Liverpool John Moores University, 2010) Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design (Liverpool John Moores University, 2008) Her research focuses on entrepreneurship in fashion, sustainable material innovations, and educational practices. Recent work examines modular fashion systems, community-based clothing swapping, and corporate sustainability communication strategies. She co-authored a study analyzing how luxury brands market 'vegan' materials as sustainable alternatives to fossil-fuel derived fabrics. Her 2021 Teaching Excellence Award (team) recognizes contributions to pedagogical innovation. Collaborations include research on social practice theory in clothing disposition and modular garment design.
