Dr. Olena Kravchuk is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Adelaide's School of Agriculture, Food and Wine, within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. She specializes in nonparametric inference and applied statistics, focusing on agriculture, food science, and sensometrics. Her research spans robust statistical methods, food sensory analysis, and the design of agricultural experiments. Her expertise includes developing statistical tools for analyzing agricultural and food data, such as ranked-set sampling and spatially balanced sampling techniques. She leads the SAGI-STH project funded by the Grains Research and Development Corporation, emphasizing statistical applications in the Australian grains industry. Dr. Kravchuk collaborates across disciplines, including medical and biological sciences, and has contributed to tools like the PMapp for assessing grape powdery mildew. Research Themes: Robust statistical methods (e.g., rank-based inference). Food sensometrics beyond consumer research. Applied statistics in agriculture and food systems. Her publications cover experimental design, agricultural data analysis, and biomedical applications. She actively engages in teaching biometry and research methods to students and professionals, fostering statistical literacy in agricultural and food science communities. Dr. Kravchuk holds a PhD (2006) in statistics and has held roles such as founding the Food Sensory Research Unit at the University of Queensland (2011). She is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students in statistical methodology and applied research.
