Steven H. Baete is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. His research focuses on biomedical imaging, particularly Diffusion MRI, Fiber Tractography, and MRI sequence development. Graduate Education: PhD from Ghent University Postdoctoral Training: Biomedical Imaging at NYU School of Medicine Dr. Baete specializes in diffusion MRI microstructure quantification and neuro-surgical planning. His work addresses technical challenges in neuroimaging reproducibility, brain connectivity analysis, and translational applications in oncology and neurology. Recent research includes developing open-access MRI datasets for machine learning (e.g., FastMRI Prostate) and advancing ODF-fingerprinting techniques for fiber crossing reconstruction. His publications span journals like Human Brain Mapping , JAMA , and Magnetic Resonance in Medicine , covering topics from diffusion kurtosis imaging to clinical outcomes in transplantation. Current clinical studies under his involvement explore microstructure MRI, TSPO-ligand PET imaging in epilepsy, and exercise interventions for diabetic neuropathy.
