Maria Grazia Porpora

Maria Grazia Porpora is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Department of Maternal-Infantile and Urological Sciences. She is a leading expert in endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, infertility, and minimally invasive gynecological surgery. Since 2017, she has held the rank of Associate Professor and serves as the President of the Midwifery Degree Course and coordinator of several integrated courses in obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences.

Her work integrates clinical, molecular, and psychosocial dimensions of women’s health.

She is deeply involved in academic governance, serving as President of the Midwifery Degree Course since 2020, and previously as Vice-President and Coordinator. She coordinates multiple master's programs and is a reviewer for international journals and funding agencies. She also leads the Endometriosis Treatment Italian Club (ETIC) and has contributed to national guidelines on endometriosis management.

Labs & Teams:

She directs the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic at Policlinico Umberto I, managing over 7,000 patients annually. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams including radiologists, psychologists, and environmental health experts. Since 2023, she coordinates gynecology services at Palazzo Baleani, a center for women’s health and wellness.
