Diederick Lutters is a Full Professor at the University of Twente, specializing in Information-driven Product Development & Engineering. He holds an external position as Professor Extraordinary at the University of Stellenbosch. He earned his PhD (2001) and Master's (1993) degrees in manufacturing-related fields from the University of Twente. His research focuses on sustainable manufacturing processes, product design methodologies, and decision-making frameworks in industrial contexts. Key areas include digital twinning for SMEs, sustainable packaging solutions, and lifecycle assessment-driven design strategies. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to economic and social development. Recent publications emphasize innovative approaches to manufacturing challenges, such as optimizing HMLV production and integrating PLM systems into educational environments.
