معرفی
Jasper Reenalda is an Associate Professor at the University of Twente, affiliated with the Biomedical Signals and Systems department. His research focuses on biomechanics, inertial sensor technology, and injury prevention in sports. He has published extensively on topics like orientation estimation using IMUs, running mechanics, and fatigue analysis. He received the Fulbright Research and Lecture grant (2015-2016) and an Honorable Mention at CHI 2024 for work on training load management practices.
Reenalda has contributed to open-source tool development, such as the DFOD toolbox for drift-free orientation estimation, and datasets like the PerfectFit project. His work integrates wearable sensors and machine learning to analyze movement patterns and improve athletic performance. Recent studies include quantifying bone load in runners and evaluating the impact of sampling frequency on injury risk assessment.
He has presented at multiple conferences and collaborated internationally on projects like the PerfectFit virtual coach system for health interventions. His research aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being, emphasizing technology-driven solutions for sports medicine and rehabilitation.
