Sakiko Oyama, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), affiliated with the College for Health, Community and Policy (HCAP). Her research focuses on biomechanics, upper extremity injury prevention, and rehabilitation technologies.

She has received grants for projects including Fatigue-induced shoulder injuries and Computational Framework for Spine Loads.
Recent publications examine markerless motion capture systems, IMU-based kinematics, and shear wave elastography applications. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges biomechanics, data science, and autism spectrum disorder assessment.
