Andrea Szigetvári is a researcher and composer affiliated with the Academy of Music at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). Her work focuses on electronic, electroacoustic, and computer music, blending artistic creation with technological innovation. She participated in BME's residency program for the 2023-24 academic year, collaborating with visual artist Katinka Hajas to explore intersections between sculpture and sound. During the program's final exhibition and concert on June 8, 2024, she presented compositions developed during her residency, including works performed at the Budapest Music Center. Szigetvári has organized interdisciplinary events, such as a meeting between ZAK and BME lecturers, and shared her research through blog posts detailing her creative processes in sound recording, editing, and experimental audio techniques. Her research interests emphasize the technical and aesthetic dimensions of sound design, including sound file collection methodologies and the application of technology in musical performance. While no formal grants or lab affiliations are specified, her residency highlights experimental collaborations and public presentations of avant-garde music.
