Andrew Spackman is an Assistant Professor at the CAS School of Arts & Creative Industries. His research focuses on experimental, electronic, and avant-garde music composition alongside interdisciplinary visual and performing arts practices. He explores musical instrument design, video art, and performance art through projects like The Habsburgs and OHMMM.
External Roles: External Examiner at Bath Spa University (2018–present) and University of Northampton (2015–2019).
Key Achievements: Shortlisted for a £500k Arts Council project (2009), commissioned by BBC Radio 3 for Coventry's 2018 New Year's Eve performance at Coventry Cathedral, and featured in major festivals like Ideas of Noise and In-Time experimental music symposiums. His music appears on BBC Radio 3/6, Resonance FM, and international platforms.
Exhibitions: MAC Birmingham, Hull City of Culture (Fountain 17), Axis Arts Centre, Ethnographic Museum Krakow, and Bangkok Arts & Cultural Centre. Notable works include the 'Grass Covered Hill' proposal and mini-guitar installations.
