Andrew Knight-Hill is a Professor of Music and Sound Arts at the University of Greenwich, affiliated with the School of Design and Creative Industries and the Faculty of Law, Arts and Social Sciences. He is the lead of the SOUND/IMAGE Research Centre, director of the Shared Hub for Immersive Future Technologies (SHIFT), and co-director of the Loudspeaker Orchestra Concert Series.
- Education: PhD in Electroacoustic Audio-visual Music from De Montfort University (2013).
His research focuses on electroacoustic music, audiovisual composition, and immersive soundscapes, with a particular interest in how everyday sounds and materials are interpreted by audiences. He explores the interplay between reality and virtuality through studio-composed acousmatic and audio-visual works.
The articles and publications span 2008–2021, covering topics like spatial audiovisual composition, sound studies, film sound diegesis, and practice-based research methodologies. His work often intersects heritage, technology, and sensory perception.
