Maryam Modjaz is a Professor of Astronomy at the University of Virginia, where she leads the Modjaz Explosions & Transients Astronomy Lab (METAL). Her research focuses on supernovae, gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), and exotic transients, using panchromatic observations and modeling techniques to uncover stellar progenitors and explosion mechanisms.
