Thomas Collett is a Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Portsmouth's Faculty of Technology, within the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation. His research focuses on dark energy's role in the universe's expansion, utilizing strong gravitational lensing to probe cosmological parameters and dark matter distributions. Collett has contributed to major initiatives like the Euclid mission, aiming to map the universe's large-scale structure. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed articles, including landmark studies on gravitational lensing systems and dark matter subhaloes. His work has been recognized with awards such as the Winton Prize (2020) and the Murdin Prize (2014). Collett also supervises PhD students and collaborates on international projects like the Dark Energy Survey and STRIDES.
