Patrick Kanold, PhD is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, co-director of the Biomedical Engineering PhD program, and affiliated with the Center for Hearing and Balance and Kavli Neuroscience Discovery Institute. His research focuses on understanding how sensory experience shapes cortical circuits during development and adulthood, particularly in the auditory system. Kanold employs advanced in vivo imaging, optogenetics, and electrophysiological techniques to study neuronal activity patterns and plasticity mechanisms.
