Orhan Zengin is an Associate Professor at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, specializing in Rheumatology. He has held this position since 2021, following previous roles as a Research Assistant at the same institution from 2007-2012 and 2014-2017. His academic journey began with a Medical License from Firat University Faculty of Medicine (2001-2007), followed by Medical Specialization in Internal Medicine at Gaziantep University (2007-2012), and further subspecialty training in Rheumatology (2014-2017). Dr. Zengin has also served in external roles as a Specialist Doctor at the Ministry of Health Ersin Arslan State Hospital (2019-2021) and completed mandatory service at the Ministry of Health (2017-2019). He is an active member of the Turkish Rheumatology Association since 2014 and holds an EULAR Ultrasonography certificate (intermediate level). His research focuses on Rheumatology with particular emphasis on Behçet's disease, Spondyloarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Autoimmune diseases, Vasculitis, and Fibromyalgia. A distinctive aspect of his work involves analyzing the quality of medical information on YouTube, with multiple publications examining this digital health education resource for conditions like psoriatic arthritis, osteoporosis, gout, and biologic therapy side effects. Dr. Zengin has published 41 peer-reviewed articles in international and national journals, along with 3 book chapters on rheumatic diseases. His research demonstrates strong clinical relevance with significant contributions to understanding disease patterns in Turkish populations. He has supervised 4 specialist theses on various rheumatology topics and presented his work at numerous national and international conferences, with 69 documented presentations. As an educator, he teaches doctoral courses on rheumatologic symptoms, extremity examination, and specific rheumatic conditions. His work bridges clinical practice, academic research, and digital health education, making significant contributions to rheumatology both nationally and internationally.
