Markus Arndt is a University Professor at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna, leading the Quantum Optics, Quantum Nanophysics and Quantum Information department. His research focuses on macromolecular quantum optics, matter-wave interferometry, and testing quantum mechanics at macroscopic scales. He has held significant administrative roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Physics (2012–2014) and speaker of multiple doctoral programs like CoQuS. Arndt's work bridges quantum physics with nanotechnology and biology, pioneering interferometry experiments with large molecules and nanoparticles. His experimental setups explore quantum superposition states and foundational questions about wavefunction collapse.
