Antti Rasila is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis at Aalto University's School of Science. His research spans complex analysis, partial differential equations, numerical analysis, and computers in education, with significant contributions to geometric analysis and mathematical geodesy. His educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Filosofian tohtori) and Licentiate of Philosophy (Filosofian lisensiaatti), both in Mathematics from the University of Helsinki, awarded on June 17, 2005 and November 21, 2003 respectively. Rasila's research interests focus on complex analysis, particularly harmonic and polyharmonic mappings in the complex plane, boundary behavior of functions, and conformal mappings. His work also extends to mathematical geodesy and educational technology applications in mathematics education. He has made significant contributions to the understanding of Banach spaces, unit disk properties, and geometric function theory. His publication record shows consistent output since 2006 with 86 research outputs, including journal articles, conference proceedings, books, and chapters. His most recent work demonstrates continued activity in mathematical research with publications extending to 2025. His research shows strong connections between pure mathematical theory and practical computational applications, particularly in conformal mappings and geodesy. Rasila has held external academic positions including Guest Professor at Hengyang Normal University (2015-2018), Docent at the University of Vaasa (since 2013), and Lecture Professor at Hunan Normal University (2012-2015). He has supervised three theses and has been active in academic hosting, serving as host for multiple visiting researchers from 2013-2017. His research project 'Älykkäät oppimisympäristöt MS' (Intelligent Learning Environments) ran from 2018-2020 as principal investigator.
