Jessica T. Feezell is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of New Mexico (UNM), where she serves as the Director of the Undergraduate Program and Coordinator of the Departmental Internship Program. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2008), and a BA from the University of Oregon (2000). Her research focuses on political communication, American politics, and public policy, emphasizing the impact of digital media on civic engagement, youth political behavior, and public opinion formation. Her work explores how new media technologies influence political participation, including studies on social media’s role in fostering offline engagement and the effects of algorithm-driven news on polarization. She is co-author of *The Politics of Energy Crises* (Oxford University Press, 2016), examining energy policy cycles and public trust in scientific information. Feezell has been recognized with awards such as the UNM Teaching Fellow (2015–2016) and multiple Women in STEM grants, and her research has appeared in *Political Research Quarterly*, *New Media & Society*, and *Computers in Human Behavior*. In addition to her research, she has pioneered innovative teaching methods, including integrating Twitter-based curricula into American politics courses. Her current projects address framing effects in media coverage of Muslims post-terrorism, algorithmic news curation, and the implications of scrollability in digital news consumption.
