David Cecchetto is Professor of Critical Digital Theory in York University's Department of Humanities, former Director of the Graduate Program in Social and Political Thought, and Faculty Associate with Sensorium: Centre for Digital Arts and Technology. He served as President of the Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts (2020-2024) and co-edits the Proximities book series.

Research explores sound studies, critical posthumanism, and digital theory through interdisciplinary approaches bridging arts practice and media philosophy. His work examines the intersections of technology, perception, and cultural production in contemporary mediascapes.
