Franziska Krasemann is a Researcher at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ in Leipzig, Germany, working within the Environment and Society thematic area and the Department of Environmental Politics. Her research focuses on environmental governance, climate justice, and sustainability transformations. She holds a Joint International M.Sc. in Sustainable Development with specialization in Earth System Governance from Utrecht University and University Leipzig (2015-2018), completed 'with distinction,' and a B.Sc. in Human Geography from Philipps University Marburg (2013-2015). Ms. Krasemann's research expertise spans Environmental and Earth System Governance, Global Climate Justice, and Sustainability Research. Her work integrates Political and Spiritual Ecology, Transformational Leadership, and Nature-based Practices & Solutions with practical approaches to Sustainable City Development and Decarbonization. She approaches sustainability challenges through transdisciplinary action research that emphasizes mindfulness practices and inclusive stakeholder participation. Her research contributions focus on the science-policy nexus of climate change, particularly examining new discourses, epistemic communities, and climate policy regimes. She has conducted field research at international climate conferences including COP 23 in Bonn. Friedrich Ebert Stiftung scholarship recipient (2013-2018) Multiple Honor Student Awards (2010, 2012, 2014) Presenter at Earth System Governance Conferences (Lund 2017, Utrecht 2018) Ms. Krasemann has professional experience in research and project management at UFZ (2018-2019), sustainability consulting for Utrecht University, and various sustainability education roles.
