Hermina G.B. Anghelescu is a Professor at Wayne State University's School of Information Sciences. With a PhD and MLIS from the University of Texas at Austin, she brings expertise in library history, information organization, and international librarianship. Her career bridges academia and global consultancy, particularly in East European and East Asian contexts. Scientific awards include: Cultural Merit Order (Knight), Romania First Rank Distinction, Republic of Moldova Honorary Membership, Association of Public Librarians in Romania She has secured $1.4M and $26.9M grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for Romanian and Moldovan public library modernization. As past Chair of IFLA's Library History Section, she advocates for global library collaboration . Her teaching includes courses on Access to Information and Advanced Online Searching .
