Tahira M. Probst is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Washington State University . She serves as Associate Director of the NSF NRT-LEAD program focusing on robotics and autonomous systems training. Her research spans 25 years in industrial/organizational psychology with emphasis on economic precarity, job insecurity, and workplace safety. Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1998) Co-investigator in international collaborations with University of Rome and University of Santiago, Chile Her research interests include: Technology-induced job insecurity and automation anxiety Cross-cultural responses to economic stressors Safety climate and accident underreporting Stereotype threat in pregnancy and marginalized professions Psychosocial risks in precarious employment Recent publications highlight multilevel analysis of job insecurity across: National corruption indices Organizational learning climates Industry-specific safety cultures Algorithmic management systems She founded the Coalition for Healthy and Equitable Workplaces (CHEW) Lab , where undergraduate and graduate students contribute to all stages of research from design to co-authorship. Lab alumni hold positions at University of Illinois , CUNY Baruch , and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology .
