Jennifer Formica is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Digital Art and Design at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), College of Arts & Sciences. She holds a B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Photography from the Hartford Art School and SUNY Buffalo, respectively. Research and Artistic Focus: Botanical and microscopic imaging using traditional analog cameras, scanners, and microscopes. Gawain Weaver is a Lecturer at the School of Information, San José State University, where he teaches INFO 284 – Seminar in Archives and Records Management. He is also a practicing photograph conservator based in the San Francisco Bay Area and President of Two Cat Digital, offering conservation and digitization services for photographic collections. MA in Art History and Advanced Diploma in Art Conservation, Institute of Fine Arts, NYU (2005) BA in Chemistry/Art History, Sonoma State University (2001) Fellow, Advanced Residency Program in Photograph Conservation, George Eastman House and Image Permanence Institute (2005–2007) His research focuses on the technical and material aspects of photographic preservation, including gelatin silver print deterioration, the history and technology of color photography, and the use of X-ray fluorescence spectrometry for analyzing photographic materials. He has conducted conservation work and research at major institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, Library and Archives Canada, and the Amon Carter Museum. His recent publications reflect a strong emphasis on the scientific and historical understanding of photographic processes, with a particular focus on material degradation and conservation methodologies. His work bridges archival science, chemistry, and art history, contributing significantly to the field of photograph preservation.
