Gawain Weaver is a Lecturer at the School of Information, San José State University, where he teaches INFO 284 – Seminar in Archives and Records Management. He is also a practicing photograph conservator based in the San Francisco Bay Area and President of Two Cat Digital, offering conservation and digitization services for photographic collections.

He has conducted conservation work and research at major institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, Library and Archives Canada, and the Amon Carter Museum.
His recent publications reflect a strong emphasis on the scientific and historical understanding of photographic processes, with a particular focus on material degradation and conservation methodologies. His work bridges archival science, chemistry, and art history, contributing significantly to the field of photograph preservation.
