Yun Shin Lee is an Associate Professor with Tenure at KAIST College of Business, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, where she has served since 2020 after progressing from Assistant Professor (2012-2020). Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Management Science from Cambridge University's Judge Business School and dual engineering degrees from Imperial College London. Her research centers on Behavioral and Empirical Operations Management, investigating judgmental forecasting, decision-making biases in inventory systems, and supply chain behavioral dynamics. Current projects explore AI-forecasting interfaces, wearable-based health prediction, and pandemic-related operational disruptions, employing experimental and empirical methodologies to bridge theoretical insights with practical applications. Professor Lee's publication portfolio demonstrates consistent high-impact contributions to top journals including Management Science and Journal of Operations Management, with recent work (2023-2025) addressing timely issues like Shanghai lockdown recovery and COVID-19 forecasting. Her research shows increasing integration of machine learning with behavioral operations and growing international collaboration scope.
