Dr. Ye He is a Research Associate Professor at the Neuroscience Initiative within the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) at CUNY. She leads the Live Imaging and Bioenergetics Facility and co-directs the MALDI-TOF MS Imaging Facility. Her research employs advanced imaging techniques to study neuron-glia interactions, brain tumor progression, and nanomaterial-biology interfaces. Dr. He holds a Ph.D. from Rutgers University and completed postdoctoral training at Mount Sinai and UCSF under Dr. Yuh Nung Jan. She has extensive experience in mechanosensation, ion channel function, and neurodegenerative mechanisms. Education: Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics, Microbiology & Immunology (Rutgers), Postdoc at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and UCSF Facilities: Director of Live Imaging/Bioenergetics Facility; Co-Director of MALDI MS Imaging Facility Research focuses on dynamic cellular changes using super-resolution imaging, MALDI MS, and two-photon microscopy. Key areas include: neurodegenerative processes, brain tumor biology, and nanomaterial interactions with neurons. Collaborates with institutions like UCSF, SickKids Toronto, and Princeton University. Recent work includes lipid homeostasis in neurodegeneration (JCI Insights, 2024), glioblastoma-targeting peptides (Nat Cancer, 2023), and oligodendrocyte transcriptome stability (Cell Reports, 2023). Supervises a multidisciplinary team with over 15 students and postdocs listed here.
