Carrie Bearden

Carrie Bearden is a Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), holding appointments in the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, Brain Research Institute, and the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences with a joint position in Psychology. She directs the Center for the Assessment and Prevention of Prodromal States (CAPPS), a clinical research program for youth at psychosis risk, and serves as Principal Investigator for the international Accelerating Medicines Partnership – Schizophrenia (AMP-SCZ). Her research focuses on neurobiological risk factors for adolescent-onset mental illness, particularly through 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome and genetic-first approaches in neuroimaging genomics.
