Professor Louise Harris is a distinguished academic and practitioner in audiovisual composition at the University of Glasgow, serving as Dean of Graduate Studies in Arts & Humanities Administration and Deputy Head of the School of Culture and Creative Arts. She holds a Professorship in Audiovisual Composition, focusing on electronic music, recorded sound, and computer-generated visual environments. Her work spans fixed media, live performance, and large-scale installations, with recent emphasis on Expanded Audiovisual Formats (EAF). Her research explores audiovisual relationships, blending artistic practice with theoretical inquiry. Notable works include the monograph Composing Audiovisually (2021) and exhibitions such as filigree traces (2021) and Visaurihelix (2018). She actively contributes to higher education pedagogy, addressing creative teaching methodologies and student-centered learning objectives. Professor Harris advises three PhD students on interdisciplinary topics, including posthuman philosophy, improvisation, and digital art hybridization.
