Jeffrey O.G. Ogbar is a Professor at the University of Connecticut , Department of History, since 1997. He also serves as the founding Director of the Center for the Study of Popular Music and previously directed the Africana Studies Institute (2003-2009) and held administrative roles as Associate Dean for the Humanities. Ph.D., Indiana University MA, Indiana University BA, Morehouse College Research Interests: Dr. Ogbar specializes in 20th-century U.S. history, focusing on African American history, Black nationalism, hip-hop culture, and social justice movements. His work explores intersections between cultural expression and political activism. Scientific Awards: W.E.B.
