Adel Younis is a Senior Lecturer at Halmstad University's Department of Construction & Energy Engineering within the School of Business, Innovation and Sustainability. He holds a BSc and MSc in Civil Engineering from Kuwait University (2011, 2014), followed by a PhD in Civil Engineering from Qatar University (2020). Previously, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Linnaeus University's Department of Building Technology. His research focuses on sustainable construction materials, including seawater-based concrete, recycled aggregates, FRP reinforcements, and CLT buildings. He also explores structural rehabilitation techniques using advanced composites and life cycle assessment methodologies. Education : BSc Civil Engineering, Kuwait University (2011) MSc Civil Engineering, Kuwait University (2014) PhD Civil Engineering, Qatar University (2020) Research Interests : Dr. Younis' work centers on sustainable materials innovation, including seawater concrete formulations, recycled aggregate utilization, and corrosion-resistant reinforcement systems. He investigates the environmental and economic implications of construction materials through life cycle assessment and cost-effectiveness analysis. His studies also address structural rehabilitation via fabric-reinforced cementitious matrices and CLT building carbon footprints. Grants & Collaboration : His research integrates academic and industrial perspectives, supported by collaborations in material testing and sustainable infrastructure design. Teaching focuses align with his expertise in structural engineering and sustainable practices. Labs/Teams : Participates in multidisciplinary teams at Halmstad University addressing smart cities, sustainable construction technologies, and environmental engineering challenges.
