Robert E. Bjork is the Foundation Professor of English at Arizona State University (ASU) and Academic Director of Arc Humanities Press. He holds a Ph.D. from UCLA (1979) and has directed the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (ACMRS) from 1994 to 2018. His research spans Old English poetry, Scandinavian literary studies, and biomedical writing. He co-edited the 4th edition of Klaeber’s Beowulf (2008) and authored The Oxford Dictionary of the Middle Ages (2010). Key roles include service on editorial boards for Anglo-Saxon England and Mediaevistik , and fellowships with the Medieval Academy of America and the English Association (UK). Notable contributions include studies on Old English saints’ lives, Grundtvig’s influence on Anglo-Saxon studies, and interdisciplinary medieval research. Publications & Awards: Over 27 peer-reviewed articles and 19 books, including Old English Studies and its Scandinavian Practitioners (2024).
