Meng Meng is a Senior Lecturer (equivalent to Associate Professor) at the University of Bath's Department of Information, Decisions & Operations within the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences. She serves as Management Director of Studies for the MSc in Business Analytics and leads the Smart Warehousing and Logistics Systems research group under the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society (CBOS). Her roles include teaching, research leadership, and academic program management. She holds a dual academic position in the IAAPS (Interdisciplinary Area of Academic Programs and Services) and serves as External Examiner for the University of Westminster's transportation-related programs. Meng's research focuses on sustainable transportation planning, travel behavior analysis, network modeling, and logistics optimization, with recent emphasis on mobility sharing services and smart logistics systems. She actively contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to sustainable cities (Goal 11) and climate action (Goal 13). Meng has secured significant research funding through projects like 'People-Led Net Zero' (UK Research & Innovation, £2.5M), 'Collaborative AI Solutions to Reduce Supply Chain Emissions' (EPSRC), and 'Infrastructure Planning for Transportation Electrification'. Her work bridges theoretical models with practical applications, leveraging machine learning, simulation, and optimization techniques. Her publications (65+ articles) span high-impact journals like Sensors and International Journal of Production Economics , focusing on topics like traffic flow prediction, bike-sharing optimization, and EV market dynamics. She collaborates internationally with institutions in Singapore, China, and Europe, reflecting her global research network. Meng's advisory roles include supervising doctoral candidates in transportation systems and logistics, and she actively participates in interdisciplinary initiatives combining engineering, data science, and social sciences to address urban mobility challenges.
