A pivotal moment in her career came in 2009 when she co-established Canada's first nurse practitioner-pharmacist-led HIV clinic following the province's loss of its only infectious disease physician. Her recent publications demonstrate a strong emphasis on evaluating pharmacist-led models for HIV prevention, sexual health services, and medication optimization, particularly in rural and underserved communities where up to a third of patients lack family doctors. The research consistently shows pharmacists can effectively expand access to care, reduce emergency department visits, and improve health outcomes.
