Zur Shapira is the William R. Berkley Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, where he has been a faculty member since 1988. He holds a professorship in the Department of Management and teaches courses in negotiations, managerial decision making, and managing organizations. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Organization Science and has made significant scholarly contributions to the fields of organizational behavior and decision theory.

He has explored cognitive processes in organizations, the evolution of high-tech industries, and the behavioral aspects of investment and insurance decisions. His influential books include Risk Taking: A Managerial Perspective and Organizational Decision Making.
