Zongzhi Li is a Professor at the Armour College of Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology, serving as Director of Transportation Engineering and Infrastructure Engineering and Management. His expertise spans transportation systems analysis, infrastructure asset management, and risk modeling.
- Education: Ph.D. in Transportation and Infrastructure Systems Engineering (2003), MSIE in Operations Research (2002), MSCE in Transportation Engineering (2000) from Purdue University; BE in Civil Engineering (1992) from Chang’an University.
Research focuses on statistical and econometric methods for transportation demand, pavement performance, and safety analysis; simulation modeling for ITS; risk and uncertainty modeling in dynamic networks; and sustainable asset management addressing system interdependencies.
Recent publications (2013-2009) emphasize optimization of transportation performance measures, safety audits, life-cycle cost analysis, and interdependent project investments, reflecting his work in statistical modeling, risk assessment, and sustainable infrastructure.
