Zoltán Orbán

Zoltán Orbán is a Full Professor and Director of the Institute of Engineering and Smart Technology at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, where he has worked since 2018. Previously, he held academic positions at the same university, including Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering (2015–2018), Adjunct Professor and acting Head of the Department of Structural Engineering (2005–2015), and Assistant Professor (1999–2005).

Orbán has led major international research projects, including initiatives with the UIC International Railway Association and the EU FP7 MAINLINE consortium. His expertise spans masonry arch bridges, satellite radar monitoring, and nuclear infrastructure safety, supported by certifications from the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers and the National Nuclear Energy Agency.
