Sister Professor Zofia Zdybicka is a renowned philosopher and metaphysician at the Catholic University of Lublin, where she has served since 1956. She held critical administrative roles including dean of the Faculty of Philosophy (1990-1999) and vice-dean (1984-1986). Her academic journey began with studies at the Faculty of Christian Philosophy (1957-1961) under notable mentors like Stefan Swieżawski and Karol Wojtyła (St. John Paul II).

- Habilitation in 1970 for "An Attempt to Construct a Thomistic Theory of Participation"
Zdybicka's research focuses on the philosophical foundations of religion, metaphysics, and anthropology. She pioneered the philosophy of religion as a distinct discipline and organized the World Congress of Christian Philosophy ("Freedom in Contemporary Culture", 1996) with 300+ participants from 30 countries. Her teaching legacy includes mentoring ~100 Master's and 28 doctoral students.
She has received multiple accolades, including:
- Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2020)
- Totus Award (2016)
- "Woman of the Year 1998" title
Zdybicka maintains active roles in academic councils like the Scientific Council of the John Paul II Institute and editorial work for the Catholic Encyclopedia. Despite her age (92 at the time of last update), she remains engaged in philosophical discourse and Church leadership.
